In-app Promotion Framework: How a simple promotion drove $1.6M in revenue
The ‘Shop’ tab in the Vivint app is a primary channel for existing customers to buy newly-released products, but with nothing driving customers to those products and product pages that didn’t communicate value, conversion rates from the shop tab sat well below 1%. This framework is a simple, value-centered flow that seamlessly drives the customer from promotion to checkout, and boosted conversion by 852%.

Problem
The in-app shopping experience wasn’t driving sales for our newly-released products.
Proposal
Create a simple, value-centered promotional framework to drive sales of newly-released products.
Finding the Chime was hard... understanding it’s value was even harder
The previous flow required users to go several taps deep and basically stumble upon the new chime. Even on the product page there’s very minimal explanation of what the product does or what value it can provide.
Before
❌ Product is buried behind several taps and scrolls
❌ Product description page doesn’t demonstrate value to user

Simple, direct, and value-driven promotions work best
Creating a promotion that leads with value and clearly explains the product is key. Everything from the banner and title copy to the quick video focus on clearly explaining what the product can do for the customer and get them to check out as directly as possible.
After
✅ Promotion is placed contextually
✅ Copy communicates value succinctly
✅ Video quickly communicates how the product works
✅ Flow is optimized for quickest path to checkout
